We are starting a seed library in a small public library in a suburban community. Most gardeners have small vegetable plots, and the recommendations I have seen for population size seem very impractical for home gardeners. How important is this requirement? I saw a suggestion that gardeners with small plots share and mix their seeds with other growers of a particular variety to preserve genetic diversity in this situation. What is your experience with seed saving in small gardens? Thanks,

Laurie Needell
