Sowing a Culture of Interdependence
I help run a small seed library in the Portal, AZ/Rodeo, NM area.
As a part of that and other educational outreach work, I am involved in, I have started a small traveling seed library box. (Think Flat Stanley meets seed libraries.)
If you'd like to have the mobile seed library visit your school or other public place, send me an email at karen at k12opened dot com. It's free. You can take seeds or information. There's no need to return any seeds back (though you're welcome to mail me back some at some future date if you like). Then just ship the box on to its next destination.
Please share this info with anyone else who might be interested.
Thanks! Actually, I worried about this in the beginning, but in our seed library experience, we've had more donations than "check outs." This may be because the focus of our library has been on growing, so nearly everyone grows and contributes seed each year. Our seed is nearly all locally grown as opposed to commercially-sourced, which I understand is not the case everywhere. We're lucky, I guess!
